The Eifel region offers such a wealth of attractions that a single
vacation will certainly not suffice to see them all. With so many
exciting activities to choose from, picking your next destination
will be a time-filling task all by itself.
Picturesque villages and towns such as Heimbach, Hellenthal, Blankenheim,
Roetgen, Simmerath - and, of course, Monschau - and plenty of charming,
untouched countryside offer innumerable options for walks, hikes,
day trips, or week-long vacations. Throughout the geological ages,
diverse formations and landscape types have evolved in the
Eifel region. From the flat Zülpicher Börde to the Eifel
heights around Blankenheim and the state boundary between North
Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate, the Eifel unfolds a infinitely
diverse range of natural scenery.
Extensive forests near Bad Münstereifel beckon hikers, and
the region around the Rur impound lake near Schwammenauel and the
fenland of the Hohes Venn near the Belgian border offer seemingly
endless miles of trail.
Our photos can only give a few select examples to illustrate that
the Eifel is well worth a trip at any time of the year. A list of
all its sights and attractions would exceed the scope of this website.
