Skiken

Skiking has elements of cross-country skating and can therefore be easily transferred into a year-round sport. The name “skike” is a combination of the words skate and bike. The skate is clear to everybody since it comes from skating. Bike indicates the braking function in each skike that comes close to the function of a bicycle brake. The tyres have a diameter of 150 mm, are air-filled to 7 bar (101 psi) and will easily take on gravel paths, concrete pavement and uncultivated paths. But at the same time, skiking is practicable for recreational athletes. Through the pneumatic tyres, skiking is absolutely gentle on the joints and diverging from paved streets is absolutely possible. Skikes are to be used with normal shoes. As is self-evident, protective equipment should be used (minimum biking helmet).
